This is so subjective and soooo subject to change with time. An actress’s cuteness is as ephemeral as dandelion in a tornado. There one second, blown away the next.
But we’re talking “cuteness”, not ravishing beauty or raw sex appeal. Cuteness is a very specific sub-definition of female attractiveness in English. If you are not aware of what I’m talking about, you shouldn’t be answering this question. An actress can be REALLY attractive and not be at all “cute”. Here’s what I mean:
Really Attractive, but low cuteness — Blake Lively
Really Attractive, with higher cuteness — Blake Lively’s costar from Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester
Really Attractive, with almost unbearable Uber-Cuteness — Audrey Tautou from Amelie.
I think that Tautou probably hit the highest ever score on the Shirley Temple scale of movie star cuteness. But she’s since faded.
So the question is who is the cutest of the cute at the moment. Tough Question. I’ll judge some of the other candidates proposed using the Shirley Temple Scale that ranges from 1-Bright Eyes to 10-Good Ship Lollipops.
- I agree that Rachel McAdams still has a really high cuteness quotient. I give her a Temple 6- Little Princess.
- Emma Stone was cute, now she’s too googly eyed and scrawny. She’s sunk off the Temple scale.
- Jessica Chastain is lovely like Lively, not cute. No Temple score.
- Anne Hathaway has some minor cuteness going on in spite of her rather odd, doe-eyed, weird looks. I give her a Temple 2 - Baby Take a Bow.
- Jennifer Lawrence has a smoking bod, but tends toward a butter face. However her personality is so effervescent, she pulls her cuteness up to a Temple 4- Little Miss Marker.
- Eva Green - Are you kidding me?. She’s vampishly beautiful, but as far from cute as hopscotch is from scotch. -4 on the Temple scale.
- Jessica Alba - Aging, but still surprisingly cute. Give her a Temple 3 - Dimples.
- Emma Watson - Probably the cutest major actress running. A Temple 8 - The Littlest Rebel
- Natalie Portman - Carried an extremely high cuteness rating when younger, now fading and down to a 2 or 3.
- Nora Zehetner, Rachel Bilson - Extremely cute in a Tautou way, but too derivative.
- Camilla Belle - Pretty, but a certain coldness in her eyes that tilt down not up bumps her off the cuteness scale.
- Drew Barrymore - A former queen of cute, since faded. Is she a grandmother yet?
Some candidates I considered, but weren’t mentioned by others
- Jenna Louise Coleman - If you take her from early Doctor Who, then oh yeah, she’s an 8 or 9. From Victoria, not so much.
- Sandra Bullock - The Sandie of Speed and Demolition Man was about a 9 on the Temple scale. The Sandie of today has all the cuteness of rusty switchblade. She’s still very sleek and deadly, but cute? Nope. However give her a break, she’s fifty. The only woman who could still pull off cute after 50 was Audrey Hepburn. I’ll take a 50 year old Sandie over any of the cuties.
- Chloe Moretz - Five years ago I would have bet money that she would have aged into the Cuteness queen. But then she hit her adult face and shape and it turned out kinda squatty, broad shouldered and weird. I think she’s dropped off the Temple scale.
That’s enough for now. I’m going to circle back around at pick Emma Watson as the reigning cuteness champ until she gets dethroned by a new contender. If I think of others, I’ll add them.
Let'see.
I would have put Megan Fox on the list - but if you saw her before she dyed her hair black ( she is actually a redhead in real life) and got some plastic surgery - you wouldn't recognize her.
These are the most naturally beautiful women I think.
Lena Headey-
Jessica Alba
Logan Browning
Teresa Palmer
Kate Beckensale
Claire Forlani
Rhona Mitra
But the most beautiful woman in film, for me, the most naturally beautiful women in the film industry ( you also know she is a natural beauty because she doesn't take good pictures. If you want to see her on film, watch “Winters Tale”
Jessica Brown Findley( she is sooo beautiful In real life and takes terrible pictures )
Here is another of her but again, she takes bad pictures-
Now there are a lot of really beautiful characters - actresses that look amazing in a certain character - like Emilia Clarke for example. As the mother of dragons- she is so epic.
But that is probably because her character is so rad too, and she has long hair and different colored eyes and computer improved body parts.
In real life, she just doesn't pack as much of a wallop-
See? There are sooo many actresses like that, exactly like that. They have the best make up artists in the industry, greatest lighting , and computer generated nude scenes - to make them the perfect 10 on film. But real life is a whole other ballgame.
